In February of 2024 I got to be Artist-in-Residence in Great Basin National Park. I loved the huge spaces of the Basin and the succession of biomes as you rise in elevation. I coincidentally read William L. Fox's the void, the grid & the sign, which I highly recommend if you find yourself in Nevada. Besides scouting the Park's burned areas and painting many small landscapes, I started a series of small studies I'm calling "Nevada Still Lifes" -- man-made detritus paired with natural objects.
